Comparing and contrast of Architecture and Urban planning.
In the past time there were no buildings, the few people that lived in the world were looking for shelter. As time passed those shelter became buildings that helped the people to survive against the weather, the animals and the supernatural powers. Nowadays, the purposes of architecture go beyond that. It is not only shelter, it is built environment with many other purposes such as: identify with the sociocultural factors, create comfortable spaces for the enjoyment of the people and adequate to the human scale, have relation with the context and the environment, and so on. On the other hand, urban planning takes care of the organization and reconstruction of urban spaces creating adequate distributions for improving the development of the city and then generating public spaces for the community. In Caracas, the urban planning has not been well-conceived, since constantly new conflicts happen with the road, informal constructions, and so on. Also, there is little connection between architecture and the design of public spaces, so architects and urban planners must work together in order to make a real organization of the urban context.
